Do I need to register?

Most existing NISSS beneficiaries do not need to take any action.

Automatic — no action needed

Already on the NISSS system?

NIS and Public Sector pensioners and Special Needs Grant recipients do not need to register.

Welfare recipients that registered to receive the Solidarity Allowance in 2025 through NISSS do not need to register.

Persons aged 65 years and over not in receipt of a pension and who may have received a one-time grant that registered to receive the Solidarity Allowance in 2025 through NISSS do not need to register.

Not yet registered with NISSS?

Welfare recipients and seniors aged 65 years and over with no pension or other income not yet registered in the NISSS system must register online or at the NISSS Office after April 11, 2026.

COLCC Registration Hub — Queen's Park Steel Shed, Bridgetown

For eligible persons who cannot access the online form, NISSS officers will assist you in person. No appointment needed.

What to bring: valid photo ID (Trident Card, Barbados ID card or Barbados Passport), proof of age, and any documentation relating to your income or pension status.
